Babolat Pure Drive Lite Tennis Racquet (French Open Edition)

As the official sponsor of the Roland Garros tournament, Babolat has released a limited edition version of the best selling racquet in the U.S.!  This racquet plays exactly the same as the blue/white version, but has the clay colored graphics on the outside in honor of the grand slam tournament played on the dirt. Babolat has taken their best racquet and has added the GT System (Graphite Tungsten) which adds a hybrid of braided carbon fibers and tungsten filaments throughout the entire racquet. Tungsten strengthens the frame to reduce torque for greater precision (Babolat claims 26% more precision compared to the previous Pure Drive). Babolat continues to utilize the Cortex vibration filter at the top of the handle. Cortex cancels only the highest two vibration frequencies and allows the frequencies that enhance feel pass through to the player. Babolat has kept the specifications on the new Pure Drive Light GT in between the Pure Drive GT and the Drive Z-Lite in terms of weight. Fills the niche in the Babolat line previously owned by the Drive Z Tour. A similar design to the Pure Drive GT but at a lighter weight and with a little extra pop. The Pure Drive Lite GT would be a great option for a player not quite ready for the weight of the Pure Drive GT. Ideally suited for players with moderate to full strokes. Recommended for the 3.0+ NTRP level players. GT Technology: Graphite Tungsten Technology is a hybrid material containing braided carbon fibers and tungsten filaments throughout the entire racquet. This customized performance booster improves racquet performance based on the concentration of Tungsten fibers at various strategic parts of the frame. The main benefit is increased power and versatility. A value added aspect of GT technology is that the added concentration of Tungsten in the head of the racquet strengthens the frame (up to 26% more than the previous Pure Drive) to reduce torque and increase precision. Woofer Technology: Woofer is the first dynamic technology which makes the frame and the strings interact when striking the ball. Woofer delivers 10% more power than conventional racquets, and ensures that the strings retain their energy longer. It enlarges the sweetspot area for every racquet size.
